John runs Asheville Pros with his wife Brittany. They’ve lived in Western North Carolina since 2009, long enough to have opinions about which roads flood, which slopes need a retaining wall, and how much a mountain lot changes what a project costs.

He started this directory after watching too many neighbors hire the first name that came up in a search, then spend the next year fixing it. Everything here is built on the same premise: homeowners make better decisions when they can see who’s actually local, and contractors do better work when they aren’t paying per lead to compete with five other companies for the same job.

Outside of this, John runs Gridwork Marketing, an Asheville SEO practice for home service contractors — which is where most of what he knows about how these businesses actually operate comes from.
